Kerala Itinerary for 5 days
Day 0: Boarded bus to Munnar from Silk Board, Banglore at around 11pm at the night.
Day 1 & 2 – Munnar
Day 1 :
As the sun rised in the morning I can already see lush green fields, coconut trees and hilly roads. Reached Munnar at around 8 am in the morning and took a cab to our homestay. Had our breakfast and the homestay owner suggested us to visit Kolukkumalai Tea Estate. It is a Jeep Safari, this tea estate shares the border with Tamil Nadu state and is famous for sunrise point. It can only be reached by Jeep. Jeep ride is bumpy and takes around 45min to reach at the top.
Next morning we took a sightseeing cab tour which took us to various places around.
- Eravikulam National Park
- Lockhart Tea Garden
- View Point
- Elephant Safari
- Flower Garden
- Honey Bee Trees
- Echo Point
- Madupetty Dam
- Munnar Shopping
Accomodation in Munnar
Main Munnar City is very crowded and was out of our budget because we were doing a last minute booking. Instead we stayed in Chinnakanal, which a village 20km away from main city. It was a very peaceful and nature friendly homestay. The view was just amazing, hills surrounded by clouds and view of the dam.

Day 3 & 4 – Alleppey (Alaphuzza)
Day 3 : Booked a cab a day before from our homestay and left to Alleppey early morning. It took 6 hours to reach Alleppey and the view was breathtaking, waterfalls, tea estates can be seen on the way.
We checked in to Alleppey Palm Beach Resort . This resort is right in front of the beach. Straight from hill station to beach 🙂 Very few people know about Alleppey beaches, it very clean and isolated and is perfect for a day relaxation.
Spent the rest of the day relaxing at beach side with some great food.
Day 4 : Backwaters
Perfect morning breakfast at the resort. After which took a local Auto and checked in to another resort at bank of backwaters.
Checked in to “Chilanka Lakeview Resort” and post lunch took a Shikara ride to backwaters.
Ended the evening by watching the sunset at the backwaters. It was a serene and beautiful moment, people around in their boats going back to home and sounds of water all around.
After tripping for 3 days we ended up the long day by having a Ayurvedic Kerela massage, the massage center was just next to our resort and it was very rejuvenating authentic Ayurveda massage.
DAY 5 : Fort Kochi
Early morning we left to Kochi from Alleppey and it took 2 hours to reach.
Fort kochi is also called as old Kochi and has Jewish building and architecture. Churches, temples, Jewish colonies, spice markets, graffiti arts are some of the major attraction of Fort Kochi.
Walk around the streets of Fort Kochi and you will find yourself in a different era with ancient architecture and culture.
Same day at night returned back to Banglore it took 6 hours from Kochi to reach back to base.
